Shaun-Michael Morse (Director of Music/Worship Leader) was blessed to grow up in a family where both music and the arts were a large part of home life. Mom and Dad were both singers and musicians. While learning to crawl his mom would set him down in front of the stereo console in the living room and play her records. When he began drawing on the walls they bought him an easel and paper. Later, as the family grew in number, he and his younger brother and sister created lasting memories performing with mom and dad for church and family reunions. Today Shaun-Michael is a multi-talented artist whose credits include all aspects of theater and music, including work as a performer, director, designer, composer and musical director working with such celebrities as Harvey Fierstein and Kristin Chenoweth. As an actor he has appeared in more than eighty regional and stock productions in both his hometown of Wichita, Kansas and the San Francisco Bay Area where he lived for eleven years. He is the personal recipient of eight local-area Mary Jane Teall Theatre awards for acting, directing and set design, and his productions of Inventing Van Gogh, The Grapes of Wrath, Picnic (Wichita Center for the Arts) and Moon Over Buffalo (Wichita Community Theatre) have been honored as Best City-Wide Drama/Comedy in their respective seasons. Shaun-Michael holds a theatre degree from Wichita State University where he served as adjunct faculty for three years. He current serves as Director of Music and Worship Leader at First Metropolitan Community Church of Kansas; a position he has held since August 2011. He is the proud parent of three sons: Nathan, Haden and Henry.
